Sarah and Shaun bought Mike Cookson Cycles in January 2009, forming Cookson Cycles, with Mike retiring after 30 years of hardwork building a great business. The store specialises in Trek, Lapierre, Giant, Mongoose, GT and We The People bikes, with a huge range of parts, clothing and accessories.

Sarah joined the business new to the cycle industry, having spent a number of years in private equity backed global manufacturing industries. After years of travelling she decided to give it up and go on a bike to work instead of a plane. Sarah rides a Trek Top Fuel 9.8 and a Trek 6.5 Madone road bike.

Shaun had worked at Mike Cookson Cycles for 12 years before taking the leap into ownership with Sarah. Shaun is the main man when it comes to sales, and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to specifications of the bikes. Shaun rides a Trek 9.8, Trek Top Fuel 9.8, Project One Madone 6.7, Trek 1.9 Road bike. Shaun is often seen at most of the race events.

Martyn is the longest serving member of the team having worked here for 13 years, with a wealth of experience building and repairing bikes. Martyn rides a Trek Remedy 7 and a Trek 1.7 road bike.



Chris also works in the maintenance team with over 10years experience. Chris is our resident BMX expert and has competed in many BMX events. He also rides a Trek Top Fuel 9, Trek Fuel EX9, Lapierre Pro Race 500, Charge jump bike, Trek Madone 5.9, Trek 1.9 Road Bike, 1994 Bear Valley Touring bike and a Hoffman BMX.

Gareth is the newest member to the Cookson team and rides a Trek Remedy 7 bike.

All our full time maintenance staff are Cytech qualified.
