We’ve had a few customers contact us recently after finding the included SIM card on their Amflow PX Pro wouldn’t connect or activate correctly straight out of the box.
After a lot of testing and discussions with Amflow support, we finally found a setup process that consistently gets the SIM working correctly that is provided with your Amflow PX Carbon Pro.
The good news is the issue appears to be related to the initial UK network registration of the SIM card and the APN settings within the Avinox app rather than a fault with the SIM card.
This guide walks you through the exact steps we used to activate the included 5-year data SIM, get the bike online, and have full connectivity features including app communication and tracking functions.
If your SIM card hasn’t activated correctly, you will notice:
The SIM card supplied with the Amflow PX Pro appears to require an initial network registration before it will function correctly in the bike.
To do this:
In our testing, EE would not activate the SIM correctly. We have successfully activated multiple SIM cards using 3 UK manually selected as the network provider.
Once the SIM has registered and mobile data becomes active, reinstall the SIM card into the bike.
Once the SIM Card in your phone, select Connections from within settings
Under Connections Select Mobile Networks
From Mobile Networks, switch on Data Roaming and then pick Network Operators.
Toggle off Select Automatically
A list of available networks will load up - We have had success choosing 3 UK.
Once registered on 3 UK you should have a data connection - test out a website to be sure (make sure you're not on wifi!)
Once the SIM is back in the bike, open the Avinox app and go to:
Once saved, the bike should connect successfully and the bike should come online within a few moments.
Once connected, the built-in SIM allows the Avinox system to access several smart online functions including:
The included SIM card supplied with the Amflow PX Pro includes approximately 5 years of data usage.
We’ve also put together a quick video walkthrough showing the setup process step-by-step.
This setup process has now worked for us on multiple bikes and appears to solve the most common connectivity issues we’ve seen so far with the supplied Amflow SIM card.
As firmware and network settings evolve, the process may improve in future updates, but at the moment this has been the most reliable method we’ve found.
If you’re still having issues after following the steps above, feel free to contact us and we’ll do our best to help.
If you purchased your Amflow bike from us and are struggling to get connected, feel free to get in touch and we’ll happily help walk you through the setup process.
